El Mirador believes that the best care is received in the comfort of our own homes. Since the beginning, we have been able to witness how home care improves the quality of life while maintaining the individual’s integrity and independence. We understand that coming to terms and having the conversation with your loved one that there is a need for professional care can be a tough one to accept. We want you to know that we strives to support your loved one and family so that you can have peace of mind regarding the quality of care that will be received consistently and conscientiously. 

 

Each of our clients receive a Personalized Care Plan are tailored to the individual’s health needs and requirements. We do our best to carefully match each of our clients with a caregiver they feel comfortable around, communicate easily with (bilingual caregivers available) and share similar interests.

What Makes El Mirador Different?

El Mirador requires no hourly minimum for daily care. Our services range can range from just 1 hour to 24/7 care.

 

El Mirador also offers flexible scheduling to best benefit our client and their families. For example, if your loved one qualifies for 4 hours of daily care, we can schedule hours in the AM and hours in the PM to best serve our client’s needs.

 

We believe having flexibility to increase the quality of life of our clients will not only benefit and support them, but their families as well.

Each of our clients are entitled to high-quality care that is customized based off their Personal Care Plan created by our one of our highly skilled Care Supervisors. As a commitment to safety, El Mirador will also conduct an in-home safety check and identify any potential hazards so that we may offer solutions to ensure the safety and ease of mobility for our clients.

Our Services Include:

  • Light household chores (laundry, dusting, vacuuming, organization, picking up) to help maintain a safe, comfortable, and clean environment.

  • Preparing healthy and nutritious meals based on any prescribed dietary plan and client reference, as well as clean up after.

  • Assisting with personal hygiene while treating our clients with the utmost dignity and respect with these sensitive activities (bathing/showering, using the restroom, dressing, oral care, grooming, etc.)

  • Walking/Mobility – Our caregivers are always at the ready to help our clients with their mobility and can help support any exercise or physical fitness outlined in the individuals Care Plan. 

  • Cognitive Assistance – We help our clients perform daily tasks with their impairments.

  • Medication reminder – Our caregivers can help remind and assist in administering medications (oral and/or topical medications)

  • Skin Care – We inspect and help treat any skin conditions our clients may have due to inactivity (ie. Bed sores)

  • Companionship – Our caregivers love to engage our clients with their favorite hobbies and past times, playing card and board games, conversing, or simply taking a stroll for fresh air. Companionship help provide a sense of security while promoting better mental and physical health.

What Insurances Do We Accept?

Personal Care services (PCS) is a New Mexico Medicaid (Centennial Care) benefit that helps clients with everyday tasks. These tasks include activities of daily living (ADLs) and the instumental activities of daily living (IADLs).

Respite Care

The term “respite” simply means “a short period of rest or relief”. Being a caregiver can be a very rewarding, and at times, a very taxing job. Let us help you! Alzheimer’s, Dementia and Parkinson’s Care  

Being a full-time care giver to someone with Alzheimer's, Dementia or Parkinson's requires lots of patience, understanding and compassion. This can take a toll on a person trying to care for and witness the health decline of a loved one. It is our goal that they should feel supported and confident that the highly trained caregivers of El Mirador Health Care are committed to prolonging the quality of life and providing excellent care to each individual receiving our services.

 

El Mirador is committed to safe, high-quality, compassionate care and therefore requires every one of our caregivers to complete monthly trainings that build upon their experience. These trainings cover teachings on managing and helping slow the decline of physical, emotional, behavioral, and other declining cognitive challenges regarding these diseases.
